Our Mosaic Embryo Story: Why We Chose Hope.

When people hear the words mosaic embryo, they often hear uncertainty first.

I know I did.

After surviving HELLP syndrome, I desperately wanted another child, but I also knew another pregnancy carried risks I could not ignore. That reality led us to surrogacy — a path filled with emotion, vulnerability, and hope.

Then came another unexpected challenge: our embryo testing results.

One embryo carried a label that instantly filled me with fear:

Mosaic.

The Fear Around Mosaic Embryo

A mosaic embryo contains a mix of normal and abnormal cells identified during PGT-A testing. The moment families hear that word, they are often thrown into a world of statistics, caution, and unanswered questions.

I remember spending countless nights researching:

  • implantation rates

  • miscarriage risks

  • low-level versus high-level mosaics

  • segmental abnormalities

  • healthy birth outcomes

But underneath all the medical language was one very human question:

“Could this still become our baby?”

For many intended parents, mosaic embryos live in an emotional gray area. You want to stay realistic, but you also cannot fully let go of hope.

The Importance of Compassionate Guidance

One of the hardest parts of our journey was realizing how isolating it can feel to navigate mosaic embryo decisions.

There is science involved, of course. Important science. Genetic counseling matters. Experienced reproductive endocrinologists matter.

But families also need compassion. They need balanced conversations. They need someone willing to walk through uncertainty with them instead of immediately shutting the door.

That is what made our journey possible.

Eva Took a Chance on Our Family

Our gestational carrier, Eva, took a chance on our family and on our mosaic embryo.

That is something I will never forget.

Surrogacy requires enormous trust from everyone involved. When mosaic embryos enter the conversation, that trust becomes even more meaningful. There are additional questions, emotions, and unknowns to navigate together.

But Eva approached our journey with courage, compassion, and faith in the possibility of life.

And because of that, Angelo is here.

Healthy. Beautiful. Deeply loved.

Angelo Changed the Way I See Mosaic

Embryos

Before Angelo, mosaic embryos felt like terrifying medical terminology attached to uncertainty.

Now, when I hear the word mosaic, I see my son.

I see the little boy who laughs, reaches for us, hits milestones, and fills our home with joy.

What once existed only as a complicated lab report became a child who changed our lives forever.

Why We Share Our Story

We share our story because we know how overwhelming this process can feel.

When you are handed a mosaic embryo report, you can feel completely alone. The decisions feel enormous. The information can feel conflicting and emotionally exhausting.

We want intended parents to know:

  • You deserve balanced information.

  • You deserve compassionate support.

  • You deserve space to ask questions without judgment.

  • You deserve guidance from people who understand both the science and the emotional weight of these decisions.

Most importantly, you deserve hope.

Our Mission

Our goal is not to tell families what decision they should make. Every embryo, every diagnosis, and every family is different.

Our goal is to help people navigate the emotional and practical realities of mosaic embryo journeys and surrogacy with honesty, education, and compassion.

Because sometimes behind the embryo labeled “uncertain” is the child you have been praying for all along.

For us, that child was Angelo.
